Governor Orders State Furloughs
SACRAMENTO - Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has ordered furloughs for state employees three days per month starting on July 10 to reduce the state's budget gap.
The scheduled furlough Fridays are:

* August 7, 14, 21
* September 4, 11, 18
* October 2, 9, 16
* November 6, 13, 20
* December 4, 11, 182010
* January 8, 15, 22
* February 5, 12, 19
* March 5, 12, 19
* April 2, 9, 16
* May 7, 14, 21
* June 4, 11, 18
EXCEPTIONS
Most state agencies will be affected.
However, all state hospitals, prisons and other 24-hour operations will maintain normal hours of operation, and a limited number of State offices below will remain open.
Within the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the following will be open:
* Parole Offices
Within the Department of Education all offices and the following special schools will be open:
* School for the Blind, Fremont
* Schools for the Deaf in Fremont and Riverside
* Diagnostic Centers in Fremont, Fresno, and Los AngelesWithin the Labor & Workforce Development Agency, the following will be open:
* Unemployment Insurance Offices, by phone only
* One-Stop Career Centers
* California Unemployment Appeals Board officesThe following Department of Public Health services will be available by phone only:
* Genetic Disease Screening Program
* WIC Vendor Hotline
* Emergency Preparedness Office
* 24hr Duty OfficerThe following also will be open during their normal business hours:

* Attorney General's Office (Department of Justice)
* State Treasurer's Office
* California African American Museum
* California Science Center
* Franchise Tax Board
* Military Department offices
* State Compensation Insurance Fund
* State parks
* Fish and Game hatcheries and wildlife areas
* Vista Del Lago Visitor's Center at Pyramid Lake
* Romero Visitor's Center at San Luis Reservoir
* Field offices of the Horse Racing Board
